This simply superb wine was one of this years limited release wines that was so popular we bought up every kit that we could to have it available for as long as possible. The 16litres of varietal juice will produce an incredibly full bodied and rich wine. For many years the Sierra foothill appelation has been californias best kept wine secret. This large wine region to the east of Napa Valley runs through California's famous 'gold Country'. During the gold rush european pioneers came to this area and planted vines, this wine blend is a tribute to them.
This unique blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Zinfandel produces a deep dark wine with rich aromas and a delicate hint of vanilla. The Zinfandels intense berry fruit flavours are perfectly balanced by the finesse of Sangiovese. On the palate this wine is full, well balanced and nicely structured with medium tannins. |
