The top tap version has the tap positioned high up so that you can place your keg on a cool floor and still get your glass underneath. The top tap also has a float system which draws your beer from the top instead of the bottom so that you always draw off the clear beer from the top before the bottom has cleared so letting you drink you beer earlier.
